The August Meeting of PEG is Set
Hello Again Parents and Friends,

We are pleased to announce the next scheduled meeting of the Parent Exploratory Group (PEG).

For those of you who want to know more about PEG just click here.

The August meeting of PEG is confirmed for:

                   Date:    August 16, 2001
                   Time:    6:30 to 8:00 PM
Place:    The home of Ms. Debra Hughes
                                          119 North Hershey Road
                                          Harrisburg

Directions:

Debra’s home is on Route 39 across the road from the Manada Hill Inn.   The directions are as follows:

STEP #1: Locate the Manada Hill Inn which is one mile East of the I-81 interchange and Manada Truck Stop and 1/2 mile West of Route 22.

To do this:

From Harrisburg either:

Take Route 22 (Jonestown Rd/Allentown Blvd.) to the red light at Route 39 (Hershey Road) -- a few miles East of Colonial Park Shopping Center -- and travel West on Route 39 appromiately 1/2 mile to the Manada Hill Inn.

     -- OR --

Take I-81 North to the Route 39 (Manada Hill/Hershey) Exit then turn East on Route 39 approximately one mile to the Manada Hill Inn.

From Hershey:

Take Route 39 West from Hersheypark Drive across the intersection at Route 22 and, from Route 22, travel 1/2 mile further West on Route 39 to the Manada Hill Inn.

STEP #2: Deb’s house is directly across the road from the Manada Hill Inn.  Look for BALLOONS on the mailbox. The house is snuggled in a small cozy valley just off the road.  Thanks Deb to you and your mom for offering your home for the meeting.

Refreshments:

We are requesting anyone who plans to attend to please (if you wish to of course) bring a small snack, a simple covered dish, or a drink for everyone to share.   Larry and I will handle the plates, utensils, cups and napkins.

Meeting Details:

We plan for the agenda to be very much like at the first PEG meeting:

1. We wish to discuss further how you would like PEG to be of service to you and specifically what we should work at for the next meeting.

2. Again, we would like to allow time for discussions with the group of issues or questions that you might have.  It could be regarding a lesson from the Parent Seminar, or maybe there is a situation with your teenager that you would like the group to explore, or maybe you have a great idea or insight to share.  This is our time and we are here to help and support each other.

3. I may again demonstrate a short lesson from Connie Dembrowsky's "Mastering Anger" curriculum. We can then determine as a group if we would like to go forward with studying the full curriculum.

4. And finally, we need to discuss among us options and locations for holding and hosting future PEG meetings

For those of you on this distribution list who are outside of the geographic area, we want you to be included in what we are doing.  I will again provide a summary of this meeting on the PEG page of the Affective Skills Web Site for you also to see and read.

I sincerely hope you will be able to attend.  I can't wait to see you again or to meet and talk with you for the first time.  But if, by chance, you can't attend this meeting of PEG, we will continue to announce future meetings on e-mail, in Words of Caring and through the Affective Skills Web Site.  Please feel free to come and join us at any time.  You are always welcome.

If you have any questions, please write back.

It's not mandatory, but if you do plan to come to the PEG meeting on August 16 could you drop a short message back to AffectiveSkill@aol.com confirming your plans to attend?  This will help us a bit with planning.

Sincerely,

John Borland
