News and Announcements... An Invitation to Come and Share with
Larry Evans: Larry to Receive George M. Leader Award for
Excellence in Education It is my great pleasure to announce that Larry Evans has been named as a 2005 recipient of the George M. Leader Awards for Excellence in Education as an outstanding teacher in secondary education. My understanding is that the Roccasecca family who attended the DCTS Parent Seminar in 2005 nominated Larry for this very prestigious award. Our sincere thanks go out to you all for this very generous consideration on Larry's behalf. The Council for Public Education will present the award to Larry and other recipients at a dinner and awards ceremony to be held on October 19, 2005 in the Aztec Room at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center. Cocktails are to begin at 5:45 PM with dinner at 7:00 PM and the awards program to follow. Reservations for the event are $55.00 per person. Larry has asked me, via this message, to please invite all our parents and friends of DCTS to this event that we might all share with him in this very special evening. You may reserve your seat for the ceremony via RSVP to the Council for Public Education by September 30. A facsimile of the banquet response card is attached for this purpose. I have taken the liberty of inserting Dauphin County Technical School on the Company/School line so that the Council can attempt to seat us together. Please check the Individual ticket(s) box on the request form and I would suggest submitting your payment with the request. For your further information, details concerning the awards, recipients and the October 19 awards presentation are contained in the August 2005 issue of Harrisburg Magazine. If you live outside of the area or cannot attend, but would like to share with Larry, please feel free to e-mail your comments to me at AffectiveSkill@aol.com and I will be happy to pass them along. Congratulations Larry. I'm sure I speak for all of us who have benefited through your efforts in saying how very pleased we are that this honor has come to you. I hope to see you all there. Sincerely, John Borland |
