A Pre-Thankgiving Meeting of PEG - A GO!
Based on the responses so far it looks like we are a GO to have our meeting of the Parent Exploratory Group (PEG) on Thursday, November 13

For those of you who want to know more about PEG just click here.

We plan to hold this meeting of PEG on:

                   Date:    Thursday, November 13, 2003
                   Time:    6:30 to 8:00 PM
Place:    Dauphin County Technical School Auditorium
                                          6001 Locust Lane
                                          Harrisburg

Meeting Details:

The meeting agenda will be very much as with previous PEG meetings.  We like to have informal discussion concerning what the you parents and friends attending most desire to talk about.  Generally discussion pertains to:

1.    Our current projects as well as any new ideas for how PEG can be of service to you.  In past PEG meetings we have had very enthusiastic discussions concerning our School Partners program and various other ideas for better distributing affective skills education in our schools.

2.    Issues or questions that you might have.  This has been a very popular area of conversation with parents.  We have reviewed lessons from the Parent Seminar, explored a variety of issues and situations with our families and particularly our teenagers and have shared a great number of personal insights.

3.    When there is time, I generally like to demonstrate a particular lesson or thought regarding the nature of our relationships and often draw from Connie Dembrowsky's "Mastering Anger - Resolving Conflict" curriculum.

4.    And finally, we often discuss among us options and locations for hosting future PEG meetings.

As always parents and friends this is your meeting. We are very much interested in having PEG be what you want it to be.  If you have other agenda topics that you would like to see explored at this meeting please send them to me at AffectiveSkill@aol.com.

Refreshments:

We feel it is much more important that we get together (the Thanksgiving is for our friendship) and share with one another.  However, if you wish, you may feel free to bring a snack item such as chips, pretzels, cookies, a drink, etc., for all of us to share.  Judy and I can handle the plates, utensils, cups and napkins.

Meeting Summary:

For those of you on this distribution list who are outside of the geographic area, we very much want you to be included in what we are doing.  I will again provide a summary of this meeting on the PEG page of the Affective Skills Web Site for you also to see and read.

You Are Always Welcome:

We sincerely hope you will be able to attend.  We can't wait to see you again or to meet and talk with you for the first time.  But if, by chance, you cannot attend this meeting of PEG, we will continue to announce future meetings on e-mail, in Words of Caring and through the Affective Skills Web Site.  Please feel free to come and join us at any time.  You are always welcome.

If you have any questions, please write back.

RSVP:

If you do plan to come to the PEG meeting on November 13, could you please drop a short message back to AffectiveSkill@aol.com by Monday, November 10 confirming your plans to attend?  This helps us greatly with planning.
